Stranded On The Sidelines

Falling inside the black
You'll never be alone
You lay there broken and naked
My love is just waiting
To clothe you in crimson roses

Looking back to that fateful day
When several bridges were burnt
I know I did the right thing

The faces who's grayed in the back of my mind
Sometimes I wonder
What went through their minds
Did they want my bond with them sawed in half?

I knew there was a richer paradise
Among those whose inner embers
Lay a solid foundation of brighter

What were they thinking?

Did they know what they were doing?
When our bonds were forever broken
Did they crumble down to their knees
As they looked at the burnt ashes in their hands

Did they rejoice somberly
As they realized the silent whisper I gave them

Stranded in the offering

Leaving was the best thing I had ever done
My part in their script was over
Their hidden intentions for me around was unknown
And will remain unknown

As I stand on the sidelines, wondering if I should go back to them
You are there reminding me I deserve a bed of roses
                                      not a bed of fertilizer

You gently grasp my hand, pulling me away from the sight
That would only bring back tears and stomach pain
Never had I felt like wanting to throw up in my life
Than that fateful war where I received a bloody dagger

You bring my hand to your lips, kissing it so softly
Whispering- "^{You deserve so much better. There's nothing wrong with you.}"

As you pull me away, I look one last time
Never looking again at corrupt memories
When I already have this wonderful memory
In the making, something better than my heart could imagine~
