Broken Wings Amongst Us

In this world of always being told
What to do, when to do it
Everyone says to blend in
Mix your colors (you gotta change 'em)
With the color of black and white

Here we stand with broken wings
Torn apart because of the poison
Fed by those who believe
What's wrong is right and right is wrong
We're supposed to walk on the same
Ground as those who have chicken legs
Not say a word and zip our lips

God You know we're not meant to
Fall and break down like old and
rusty pieces of machinery
We're meant to fly high
In the midst of the storm and the rainbow

The rainbow of Your promise

Heal our broken wings
Stitch our souls back together
Remind us of Your grace
That always supplies
Shut the mouths of the lions
For the sake of Your Will
Give them the ability to listen
To the Good News the proper way

....

You see that little light in me
What's left of hope and confidence
That You'll deliver me out of
The trials that try to plunder
My body, mind and spirit
I'm in the hallway
Constantly telling myself
That You always have the right answers
And open the right doors

You know of the thing that contemplates
And surrounds the depths of my mind
If this is the right door, open it
If this is the wrong door, let me know
